Coffee sounds like a good chance to take a break,
to pause and look from afar at my affairs;
to think of the enduring problems hanging there
and to assess the ways in life that keep me awake.
A good chance to assess the odds that lie at stake;
to consider those for whom I really care,
to evaluate what I can do to remain fair
and listen to their regards, for my own sake.
When I drink a cup of coffee I grant myself
a good chance to look again and redefine;
a good chance to let my soul look at itself.
A good chance to reconnect what’s really mine:
a good chance to reconnect with my true self;
a good chance to reconnect with the divine.
