Café El Mañanero es una empresa familiar puertorriqueña establecida en 2003 y actualmente dirigida por Francisco Miró en Indiera Baja, Maricao. Un lugar remoto en las tierras altas del oeste de Puerto Rico. Francisco lo hace todo: cultiva su propia plantación de café, compra café a sus agricultores vecinos, lo seca y lo mantiene en perfectas condiciones para el tueste. Tuesta café semanalmente y distribuye su producto fresco personalmente a las tiendas locales, supermercados e incluso a algunos viejos amigos a quienes les entrega su producto personalmente. Compré éste formidable café para probarlo y desde entonces me quedé con él. Y mira que los he probado los mejores, pero éste no es amargo, y es 100% arábico de Maricao, manteniendo su sabor y frescura.

My daughter , Heidi Marie, and her soulmate, were delighted with this Christmas gift, I had for them. A life long friend, Jaime Castañer, whom I visited recently, gave me an 8 oz. bag of the El Mañanero Coffee, (Blue Bag), to bring to her, as a gift from him . When they both tasted it , they said that this was the best coffee they had ever flavored. The 8 oz. bag, only lasted one week. Their reaction, moved me to order four 16 oz. bags, as a Christmas gift to them. By the way, the farm of Jaime Castañer, borders with your farm in Mariano. He was the one that introduced me to such a delightful coffee!!!

This is a dark roast which I only use to make espresso to use in cafe con leche. I prefer the medium roasts though. All in all the sampler packages are good deal and a great way to find your favorite for your next purchase. The package arrived in central Florida 3 days after purchase intact. Buen provecho y que viva Puerto Rico siempre!!!
