Coffee, Verse & Inspiration: PRCH’s 2026 Poetry Contest
Share
Some cups of coffee inspire conversation. Others inspire poetry. This fall, Puerto Rico Coffee Hub (PRCH) invites our email subscribers to put that inspiration into words in our 2026 Coffee Poetry Contest.
Write in English or Spanish, share your passion for coffee, and let your creativity shine. From décimas to free verse, every poetic form is welcome.
Contest dates
Submissions will be accepted from October 23 through November 16, 2026. Winners will be announced on Thanksgiving Day —Thursday, November 26, 2026—.
Who can participate?
The contest is open to customers subscribed to our email list, with a limit of one submission per subscribed customer. No purchase or proof of purchase is necessary.
Please note: If you open the contest page through our app, you will be prompted to log in again to access it, even if you are already logged in to the app.
What to write
Your poem must be about coffee or include the word “coffee” somewhere in the poem. Submissions may be in English or Spanish and must be no longer than 200 words.
All poetic forms are welcome, including structured poetry, décimas, and free verse. Creative imagery and a passion for coffee matter most.
Prizes and a treat for participants
- First place: $100 gift certificate.
- Second place: $75 gift certificate.
- Third place: $50 gift certificate.
- Honorable mentions: $10 gift certificate each.
Gift certificates can only be redeemed in our store in the USA.
Originality matters
Poems must be original, unpublished works. We will spot-check submissions for plagiarism, and any submission identified as plagiarized will be disqualified. We cannot guarantee a complete review against every source, as we do not have access to all published or written poems.
How poems will be evaluated
A team of human evaluators will judge the poems. AI will not be used to judge their beauty or rank the submissions.
We will not attempt to determine whether AI was used in any way in the creation of the poem. Prizes will be awarded to the poems our evaluators find most beautiful, regardless of how they were created, subject to the originality and unpublished-work requirements above.
PRCH’s judging decisions are final. Details of the evaluation process beyond those described here will not be shared.
Your words could be featured
Any submission may be selected for publication on our website, whether or not it receives a prize. We may also create a page showcasing favorite submissions independently of prize placement.
Authors authorize PRCH to use all submissions for publication or marketing purposes.
Let coffee inspire you
A morning ritual, a memory of home, the aroma of a fresh brew: inspiration can begin with something as simple as a cup. Bring your imagery, your rhythm, and your love of coffee. We look forward to reading what you create.
